The Experience

Six road stages. One remarkable race week.

GiroSardegna returns to Alghero, Sardinia, from 25–30 April 2027. This is a six-stage amateur road competition across the coast, interior roads, and climbing terrain of the island’s north-west — not a bike tour. Each stage brings a different demand: a northern coastal opener, an individual time trial, hard interior climbing, fast open roads, the Alghero–Bosa coast, and an uphill final stage.

BikeTours presents the week as a Luxury Sportive: a competition-first experience with a considered recovery base and a clear race-week rhythm. Secure your 2027 bib through the scheduled checkout, then shape accommodation and BikeTours service options with our team.

Choose your road route

MedioGiro

Approx. 376 km · Approx. 5,456 m climbing · Six stages

The MedioGiro is a complete stage-race week with shorter daily distances. It still asks for serious climbing legs on the interior and Alghero–Bosa stages, and sustained power in the individual time trial.

GranGiro

Approx. 473 km · Approx. 6,526 m climbing · Six stages

The GranGiro follows the same race calendar, with extra distance and climbing where the routes divide. It is the choice for riders who want the larger endurance demand of the week.

Your route is a rider-registration choice, not a separate BikeTours package. To remain in the organiser’s overall classification, you must complete the route selected at registration on every stage.

Make it Gold

Stay through 1 May and add GiroSardegna Gravel: the seventh race of the organiser’s Gold classification. The course begins and finishes at Capo Caccia and is predominantly unpaved, with fast gravel roads, sandy sectors, and a three-kilometre gravel climb.

For 2027, GiroSardegna Gravel is the single-event Italian Gravel Championship FCI. The organiser assigns the course by category: either 95.31 km / 1,128 m or 72 km / 873 m. International riders can enter if eligible, but do not contest the Italian championship title.

Choose your recovery base

The 5-Star Race Hotel

Choose the 5-Star Race Hotel path if you want a central Alghero base and the atmosphere of the event headquarters. This is the right expression for individual riders, couples, and small groups who want a refined room-based stay around the race week.

Private Villa Race Residence

Bring your own group and make the week entirely your own. The Private Villa Race Residence is a private-group enquiry option for riders who value a shared home, private recovery space, and a tailored stage-start logistics plan.

These are two accommodation expressions of one GiroSardegna Luxury Sportive. Neither changes the official route, race rules, route choice, or Gold eligibility. Your exact stay and any BikeTours transport, bike-care, and hospitality services will be set out in your tailored proposal.

Race with care

GiroSardegna is operated by the event organiser. Riders must meet the organiser’s licence and competitive-medical requirements. The road stages run on roads that remain open to traffic with managed and rolling control, so the rules of the road always apply. Riders aged 15–18 and 70+ are restricted to MedioGiro.

Ready to ride? Secure your bib for the scheduled 2027 race week, then speak with the BikeTours team about the route, the Gold extension, or your group’s accommodation plan.
